Yurari ゆらり is an exceptional Onsen / Hot spring establishment in Shimane. It is located in Hirata Town 平田町 Izumo City 出雲市, between Matsue 松江 and Izumo 出雲 on the north side of Lake Shinji 宍道湖.

Yurari ゆらり claims to be the largest 100% natural Onsen / Hot Spring facility in the Chugoku region 中国地域.

It is a “Kake-nagashi” 掛け流し Onsen, meaning that the bath water is continually filled and replaced from the source of the natural hot spring and the water drained is not recycled. This is a popular method of water supply and drainage because it is thought to be very clean, hygienic and pure.

There is an exceptionally large and beautiful outdoor bath (Rotenburo) 露天風呂 made of rock (Iwa-buro) 岩風呂 and an indoor bath made of wood (Ki-buro) 木風呂. There are three separate tubs and a low temperature steam sauna outside. Inside is an Infra-red dry sauna and a cold water plunge pool.  Due to popular demand, they have re-introduced massage salt in the steam sauna.  Sanintabi highly recommends the experience of a salt sauna.  Apply the salt to your body and allow it to dissolve in the heat of the sauna.  It is said to make your skin feel very smooth and tender.  The act of massaging salt onto the skin is also therapeutic.

There is a restaurant attached to the facility and there is a separate desk for private (family) bath (Kazokuburo) 家族風呂bookings that are more expensive and can include meals.

Professional massage services are also available and there is a souvenir shop.
