Kimachi Onsen Village きまち温泉村 is located in Shinji Town, Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture 島根県　松江市　宍道町. It consists of the three establishments Omori no Yu 大森の湯、Irori Jaya いろり茶屋 and the Shinji B&G Aquatic Centre 宍道町B&G海洋センター.

Omori no Yu 大森の湯 is the Onsen / Hot spring and it is especially popular with the locals. The building that surrounds the bath is made completely of wood and this provides a unique old Japan atmosphere. There is an outdoor bath (Rotenburo) 露天風呂 with a space to lie down called a Ne-yu 寝湯. It also has a very unique Sauna that Sanintabi! highly recommends. The Sauna is called a Thoron Sauna and it is a special low temperature Sauna that uses the humidity from the hot spring, much like low temperature hot stone spa’s called Ganbanyoku 岩盤浴. It is amazing that at only 50degrees C you can really work up a great sweat in minutes.

The Irori Jaya いろり茶屋 is a great, atmospheric restaurant with open fireplaces and authentic meals from the Sanin region such as Izumo Buckwheat noodles and other healthy delicacies. They also accept credit cards.

The Shinji B&G Aquatic Centre 宍道町B&G海洋センター has 25m pool with 6 lanes, a Jacuzzi, and a children’s elephant slide pool. The facility also has a fitness training room with good quality weight machines, treadmills, exercise bicycles and limited free weights.

There are regular swimming classes and other activities during the week. Kickboards, floating devices, fins and other equipment are available for free use in the pool. A swimming hat is required but they can be hired along with swimmers from the front desk.

Price: Entry to the Onsen / Hot spring is 300yen including shampoo and body soap.
Entry to the Shinji B&G Aquatic Centre is 500yen. There are membership deals that offer discounted prices for both facilities.

A single yearly membership to the Shinji B&G Aquatic Centre 宍道町B&G海洋センター is very economical at 21000yen, which is equivalent to paying for 42 visits. Additionally, members can use the training room/gym for free and also enter the Onsen / Hot spring Omori no Yu 大森の湯 for the reduced price of 150yen.  Family memberships are even better value.
